Happy 11th Birthday Emmaus Community!

A happy birthday to The Emmaus Community - the monastic-inspired intentional Christian community -  as we celebrate our 11th anniversary.   Emmaus is the 'parent' community of AbbeyChurch. 

A small group, taken under the wing of Anglican nuns, discerned a rule of life committing to prayer, presence and simplicity and prayed together for the first time on the Monday after Pentecost Sunday in 2014.

Next week, Emmaus will hold a day long retreat, set their new 'customary' (shared practices for the next year) and are also quietly looking a properties which have potential for their monastic hub and cooperative housing.
