Every now and then we’ll hold a worship with a full Bluegrass / Americana and/or Rockabilly band featuring old standards, hymns and Americana / popular songs. We have a full band with singers, banjo, bass, guitar and other instruments to lead us in the sing-along jamboree!
Our next one is Sunday October 22nd at 4pm at 600 Richmond.
A bit more:
Bluegrass: a form of American roots music, and a sub-genre of country music. Bluegrass was inspired by the music of Appalachia. It has mixed roots in Scottish, Irish and English traditional music, and also later influenced by the music of African-Americans through incorporation of jazz elements. At our worship we’ll draw on classic gospel bluegrass, roots, folk as well as Americana and Canadiana and alt-country.
When we hold Bluegrass Worship we’ll have an open communion/mass (optional to receive), simple prayers, poems, contemplative spaces and sing-along jamboree celebration that welcomes sinner and saint (and everyone inbetween) alike!
